PUZZLE CUBE COMBINATIONS
To start off our puzzle cube challenge, we used wooden blocks to draw as many possible piece combinations as we could on isometric paper.
Conclusion Questions
1. It is important for designers to think of multiple solutions to a design problem because designers will think of more ideas if they approach it from a different angle, and designers need a back-up plan in case the first solution doesn't work.
2. To discover the exact number of possible combinations for each set of cubes, I first constructed all possible flat puzzle pieces, then moved onto 3-dimensional pieces. I also used math and consulted my classmates to find the exact number.
3. It is important to sketch my ideas on paper and sign and date the document because it is important to document my design so I can refer back to it later when I want to build the design, and so I can show others my design. It is important to sign and date the document so I can take credit for my work and know when I designed it.
