REVERSE ENGINEERING HANDS-ON PROJECT
The day has finally come! For the hands-on project, we chose a man-made product and took it apart to observe the inner mechanism and make deductions about how the parts interacted with each other to make the part work. My partner and I took apart a children's toy and modeled some of the parts on Inventor, as you'll see below.
Battery COverThis serves as a cover for the battery compartment when screwed in and prevents the bateries from falling out or being tampered with by children.

Hour Hand's Red ButtonThis button attaches to the hour hand and has little purpose but to make a smoother surface and provide color to be more visually appealing.
|
SpeakerThis part is the one that produces sound. Connected to a circuit board, it receives signals and produces the sound that the child hears.
|
On/off SwitchThis is the smoother, more visually appealing and safer cover for the on/off switch. While the actual switch is connected to he circuit board, this cover attaches to it and helps turn the device on or off when pushed to one side.
